The Gold Star Dermaplane Facial combines professional dermaplaning with a chemical peel for a more advanced resurfacing treatment. Dermaplaning removes surface buildup and fine vellus hair, while the peel provides additional exfoliation to help improve dullness, uneven texture and overall skin appearance.
The result is skin that feels incredibly smooth, fresh and polished, with that beautiful post-facial glow.

What to expect, and afterward
Dermaplaning itself does not hurt. A sterile blade is drawn across taut skin at an angle — most people describe it as light scraping, and it takes about fifteen minutes. There is no needle and no numbing.
The peel goes on afterward. You may feel warmth or mild tingling while it is on; how strong a peel I choose depends on what your skin has shown me it can take.
Afterward, skin is smooth immediately. Expect some pinkness for a few hours and possible light flaking a few days later. Wear sunscreen — freshly resurfaced skin burns more easily than you expect. If you have an event, book at least a week ahead rather than the day before.
Where clients travel from
The studio is one room on North Madison Avenue in Greenwood, a few minutes off I-65 at Main Street, with parking at the door. Clients come for this from Greenwood and Center Grove, from Franklin, Whiteland, and Bargersville, and from the south side of Indianapolis, Southport, and Beech Grove.

Common questions
About dermaplaning
Will dermaplaning make my facial hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. This is the most common worry I hear and it is a myth. Vellus hair is not terminal hair — the blade removes it at the surface without touching the follicle, so nothing about its thickness, colour, or growth rate changes. It grows back exactly as it was.
Can I have this if I use retinoids?
Tell me first. Retinoids thin the surface layer and raise sensitivity, and combining them with two forms of exfoliation without adjusting is how people end up raw. Usually I ask you to stop a few days beforehand and I moderate the peel. Handled properly it is fine.
How is this different from the My TLC Facial?
The My TLC Facial is diagnostic and fully adjustable, and it suits any skin including reactive skin. The Gold Star is two forms of exfoliation in one appointment, aimed at visible resurfacing, and it is meant for skin I already know. If I have not treated you before, we start with the My TLC Facial.
